Feature guide

Each feature covers one part of midas. For a short introduction to all of them, and how they fit together, see Midas 101.

Features are ordered so that you can read this documentation from start to finish. If you won't be writing code, skip Writing programs and start at Web interface.

Most features have up to three pages, from least to most technical:

  • Overview: the concepts, and day-to-day use through the web interface.
  • Configuring: changing settings in the ODB, setting things up, and fixing problems.
  • Programming: using the feature from C++, Python or JavaScript code.

Read as far as you need, and skip the pages that aren't relevant to you.

The rest of the documentation

  • Getting started introduces midas, and has installation instructions and a guide to setting up your first experiment.
  • Reference lists every program, ODB key and web page. Its Internals section covers how midas works inside, and how to work on midas itself.
  • API has the complete C++, Python and JavaScript API documentation.
